Scorrendo l'elenco delle vincitrici mi accorgo di averne letto solo uno, Snowbound, il migliore breve di genere contemporaneo, perciò questi premi (putroppo per le mie tasche!) non potranno che portare a nuove ispirazioni di lettura !!!

Il romanzo che mi ispira di più è quello della Raybourn.
Silent in the Grave di Deanna Raybourn è stato tradotto in Italiano: Silenzi e Veleni uscito per la Harmony o sbaglio?

Sono contenta della scelta di Lover unbound della Ward, bellissimo libro, come è bella tutta la sua serie ma, a mia opinione, ancora più bello è il precedente della stessa serie lover awakened.
RispondiEliminaCara Friederike, ti dirò di più, che l'unico romanzo che ho letto fra quelli vincenti,pur essendo carino, non mi ha entusiasmato più di tanto, anche se la trama mi aveva preso sulle prime perchè l'ambientazione 'snowbound', dei protagonisti costretti a vicinanza forzata in seguito a una tempesta di neve, mi stuzzica.
RispondiEliminaIl problema è che il formato più breve e certi paletti imposti dall'essere un 'category'( vedi ad esempio la sensualità non troppo esplicita) impongono secondo me per arrivare all'eccellenza un uso molto dosato di tutti gli elementi. Ci sono autrici come la Brockmann che anche nei romanzi brevi (penso alla sua serie Tall Dark and Dangerous) sa produrre un risultato soddisfacente sotto ogni punto di vista, mentre altre, vedi la Johnson in questo romanzo, arrivano a un certo punto bene e poi per rispettare il formato devono affrettare le cose,a scapito dello sviluppo dei personaggi e della storia. Perciò molte cose risultano solo accennate e non si capisce perchè siano state introdotte se poi non si è potuto svilupparle a dovere.
Insomma riuscire a scrivere un category veramente degno di nota si può e come, ce ne sono tanti che rientrano nel gruppo dei miei Preferiti,però è più difficile perchè 'i vincoli' del formato sono molti di più rispetto ai romanzi lunghi.
Tutto questo per dire che certamente qualche suggerimento di lettura da questi premi RITA lo trarrò, ma come sempre prima mi leggerò una serie di recensioni per valutare la scelta. Ad esempio, il romanzo della Quinn che ha vinto per i Regency su molti siti di recensioni non era considerato così eccezionale. E quello della Hoyt candidato quest'anno era decisamente il meno bello fra i tre della sua trilogia Princes.
Mi piacerebbe prendere il contemporaneo della Higgins che mi sembra divertente e Treasure della Brenna perchè la trama mi stuzzica. Spero non mi deludano.

Lady, grazie mille della segnalazione per il libro della Raybourn! Correggo subito (citandoti) con la nota della pubblicazione italiana che mi era sfuggita, non essendo io come sapete una fanatica del genere.

La prossima volta firma il commento eh...così ci conosciamo! ;0) ), soper sentito dire che fra i libri della serie della Ward 'Lover Awakened ' è uno dei migliori. Se hai letto uno dei post che ho scritto a maggio sul genere paranormale/vampiresco, saprai che non è esattamente il mio genere, però alcune amiche blogger mi hanno dato una mano ad informarmi meglio. E ho pure acquistato Lover Unbound, nonostante l'idea dei vampiri non mi prenda molto, proprio perchè sono curiosa. Se mi piacerà, penso che prenderò anche Lover Awakened.

Tra questi ho letto solo quello di Jr ward, che tra l'altro è quello che amo meno della serie, e I diari segreti di Miranda di Julia Quinn che invece mi era piaciuto molto.

Cherry Adair ,che era candidata nella categoria Romantic Suspense con White Heat, come sai, mi aveva detto ancora prima di partire che non avrebbe vinto e si sarebbe goduta la premiazione senza stress.
Da cui deduco che ,anche qui ,ci devono essere dei "magheggi", tipo notte degli Oscar, dove chi deve vincere è deciso in base a logiche che non sempre sono quelli delle vendite e del gradimento al pubblico!!
